How many had the pleasure of "pulling cards" at each department or was it the field house?

I had to do that. You'd get your packet at the Assembly Center and then walk around the big circle of tables to swap cards/classes. At some point, you had to get the signature of an advisor from your college so you had to walk to CEBA or wherever but most people forged the signature.

One semester, my girlfriend at the time said that she wanted to register together like man and wife, I guess. The person at the Assembly Center said that my packet was being held by the Dean of Students so we both went to the Dean's office. It turned out that the Dean was taking a sabbatical and wanted to introduce the fill-in Dean to LSU's worst of the worst problem students. Wow - was my girlfriend impressed! She even had a cousin who worked in the Dean's office who asked her what we were doing there. Good times.

y'all's registration system was called reggie?! the only way that could be any funnier is if reggie's voice was deep and stereotypically black sounding.

"yeah lil' mama, reggie gon' get you all the classes you need, girl"

Im not sure that's funny, but ok.

Yes, I used REGGIE back in the day... it was so much faster than PAWS I guess since few people used it.

I want to say that it was a sort of acronym for something stupid but I don't remember for sure.

I learned that when you needed an advisors signature to OK a class you could just have anyone sign it and they accepted it

I signed my fair share of those.

well, it was funny to me because i didn't attend LSU and this is the first i'm hearing about it. so the first thought in my head i'm picturing some dude named reggie coordinating everybody's class schedule.

I threw a phone out the window in the dorm over that shite. My freshmen year was the first year of PAWS. Most still used Reggie, 38-tiger was the number I think.

It was best to find a phone on campus to use when the system went live at midnight - off campus took forever to get through (with hundreds of redials).

I worked at Hibernia Bank between 2004 to 2006.
There was a recorded phone line that I called that used same voice as Reggie to give announcements.

I was at LSU when Reggie started. Total clusterfrick. I preferred Walk Through Registration.

I did this at NLU. One semester a female friend ran a long-arse phone line out of her dorm room, set up a table and chairs, a few of us brought snacks, someone had a radio and we made a night of it (the system opened up at midnight).
