Second this, Herman Miller chairs are worth their weight in gold.
But I am interested in trying one of these stand up/sit down combos.

Disagree. The chairs at work are all fancy and ergonomic and prob cost $1000 each. Maybe it's just me, but my back starts to hurt after sitting all day.

Research shows it is preferable by far to sitting all day for your entire spine. We were not meant to sit all day long. Everyone should have one.

They sell monitor arms that attach to the desk. I have two at work, but my desk doesn't raise. If Varidesks weren't so damn expensive I would have had one by now. Our office tried a petition to upper management to get them for us and they laughed at us. lol I don't blame them

Only people that hate them are the insecure types who worry about what others wear, drive, or how they park.
Aside from helping your posture, they also allow one to stand instead of sitting all day,which offers other benefits according to some studies.

I was a Data Scientist for a year and a half so I spent most of my days buried in a computer screen. I had a desk that could be raised into a standing desk and it was a fricking miracle for my back.

I have one and love it. It is big enough to hold 2 monitors and my laptop. Say what you want but it is greatness.
