It's supposed to help you work sitting down or standing so you don't wear yourself down over time.

I like the idea, but I saw a study saying standing only burns 8 calories/hour more than sitting at a desk (88 vs 80). I realize there are other benefits to standing, but eff that.

Several colleagues of mine have it and enjoy being able to stand when they are tired or sit when they need a break.

I don't have one, but I see the advantages of why you would.
