The mention of slavery to me is far too offensive.
As a white male, it reminds me of a dark time in our history that we can't properly make up for. I am disgusted by the actions and hate having to relive them every time I hear those words.
Guess we'll just have to eradicate it from the history books and never bring it up in any context ever again. EVER

The Fleur De Lis was also branded onto WHITE French criminals who were serving a life sentence but shipped off to Louisiana as well as prostitutes. The mark went on their shoulder.
(I will have to find my source for this, It was in a book I was reading recently)
My point being - it was NOT solely a "black thing" or a "slave thing" so they need to stop "appropriating" other people's history and claiming is is all about them.
