Any idiot with half a brain and one leg sees the difference in a scaled back AK-47 or M-16 vs a hunting rifle or shotgun.

You were absent on the day they talked about the constitution in grade school huh??

Plus, If I ever gotta fight off zombies, Muslims or an invasions for North Korea I'd like something with a bit more pop to it..

So the deciding factor is what it looks like? You're advocating not owning firearms based on looks alone?

fricking tard.

I'm no historian and have never really researched it, but I would think most of our standard hunting guns today are basically scaled back versions of what used to be military grade weaponry of the past. Guns evolve and are improved just like any other technology in our society. Who's to say that 20 or 30 years from now the standard hunting rifle doesn't look just like your so called assault rifles of today.

So when the military is done with them, does that mean we can use them then?

Please note, the first 10 amendments are called the "Bill of Rights" not the "Bill of Needs"

We don't "need" lots of things, but we have the right to own them.

No one is trying to take away your right to own a gun. The question is what type of gun is permitted. There are already laws limiting the types, so this is a matter of deciding what types are becoming too great a threat to the public in the wrong hands.

i'm not going to go all extreme right wing, Murica on you.
I'm simply going to say i own a pistol and an AR platform rifle.

I use my AR as a hobby. I enjoy working on it, shooting it. It's a fun thing for me to do.
My pistol is for self defense.

If tomorrow my AR was taken away from me by the government i wouldn't give a shite. Constitution this, constitution that. I simply would not be all that upset about it.

Now my personal defense weapon? My pistol? There'd be a problem
