How important is it for you to own a gun?

It seems to me that guns are best used for hunting but so many are not hunting weapons. I can see them as a form of self-defense. But aren't there some guns that are just assault weapons? Why do we need those?

its one of my fundamental rights as an American, its how we became a country...I have guns, not any ARs, but if I got a wild hair to buy one, I wouldnt want anyone telling me I couldnt.

I know you're fishin' for bites, but I have to ask, have you ever gone out to a gun range and unloaded some rounds on paper targets? It's fun, therapeutic and can be considered educational.
