How have the DKE's at LSU gotten away with their signs over the years?

Disclaimer: I'm just trying to find out how they haven't been silenced when it seems so easy nowadays.
In the world where free speech only works one way, they've managed to insult everyone they can over and over. Curious cause we're having a discussion about Kaep today and their sign came up. Does LSU not have authority over them? People keep calling for their heads but nothing ever seems to happen. What's their secret?

They own the land that their house sits upon whereas LSU owns everything else. LSU can't exert influence or kick them out of their house.

the 1st amendment doesn't apply to them if LSU has control over them. just like it doesn't apply to Kaep if the 49ers told him to STFU

They have had to issue apologies a couple of times but the situation of the ownership of the land where their house is keeps them from any major punishment. Thank god because the signs are awesome and if a sign offends you your fricking life sucks.
