Hank Williams was from Northern Alabama.
But the song was co-written by Aubrey Wilson "Moon" Mullican who was from Polk County, Texas. Since he was on a different record label, Fred Rose convinced him to not take a writing credit to keep from having to split publishing royalties, but paid him under the table.

Had to think about it.
Sometimes a cross between Bi-ah Ba-yuh. I can't type the exact sound.
Mama said Bye-you and Dad said Bi-uh.

I could be wrong, maybe it's a regional kind of thing, but whenever I hear it pronounced "bye-oh" it just sounds tryhard as frick to me.
Kinda like when I hear someone saying "I ate a good poor boy sandwich."

My husband’s peeps from down the bayou say “by-yuh”

If you don’t say BY-yoo you probably say PEE-can
I say By- U but also PEE-can
Since we produce the majority of the them from my neck of the woods, we get to decide that pronunciation.

Wrong. Hank, Sr. was born in Mt. Olive, Alabama, south of Montgomery. He grew up in that part of the state.

By-you or by-yuh.
By-you Manchac
By-yuh LaFourche (but sometimes still by-you)

I don’t know where you’re from but pecan trees are most common in the Deep South and none of us say PEE-can.

I automatically assume the person is from Texas
Or The Mississippi/Southeastern Arkansas Delta
