My son bit a kid a few times from 18 months to 3 years old. For some kids it is a phase and not much us parents can do.
We had to take him out and pay grandma to watch him for a year until preschool. No problems since then.

Bitining is Normal. They all do it. Mine stopped after 4 or 5 years.

I hate this shite.

It annoyed me until I had a kid. Children develop so rapidly in the first two years. A 12 month old and 20 month old are both one year olds, but they are very different in what they can do and how they act.

Here's a secret money-saving tip for next time. No need to thank me.

No trolling. We called the doctor and explained what the wound looked like. The skin had broken and there was bleeding and a lot of bruising. The doctor said take him to ER just to make sure that the area is cleaned thorough and there is no possibility of an infection because of all the bacteria that is in a mouth that could have transferred to the wound.

Good luck with the infections!!!!

You should always consult a physician for a human bite that breaks the skin for your kid... If you care about their well being, of course.

Just wondering, what are the roles and responsibilities of the people running the daycare and the parents of the biting toddler?

My gf works at a daycare with the ages you're talking about. Biting is a huge problem with some of the kids that age.

The rule where she works is if a child bites 3 times within a 2 week period they get sent home for a week. A certain number of times within the "semester" and the child is completely kicked out of the program.

They actually had to kick one boy out within the first few weeks this year after the little shite bit another kid 3 times with the same week. The other girl in the class got fired because she would be sitting on her phone the whole time leaving my gf watching eight 1-2 yr old children by herself, which is apparently more difficult than it sounds

So where you go to get antibiotics for a 1 year old determines whether he'll be a pussy or not.

Brilliant parenting skills!!!

I have twin boys, 5 now. Eight 1-2 years old sounds like hell on earth.

Unless we're talking about a bite wound that has broken through subcutaneous tissue, then I think little Johnny will make it through a small laceration without a deadly case of sepsis.

My wife and I were touring a daycare last week and in the middle of our tour, a dad had to come and pick up his kid for biting. He was not pleased.
