I always call it "birth" since no one would be able to find the street if I called it bee-youth. Only New Orleans natives pronounce it bee-youth

Pronounced as if the “e” were a hard “a”. Marango (you almost hear the word, Ray, in the middle of the word.

My friend grew up on corner of Carondelet and Marengo.

Carondelet was named after Francisco de Carondelet; so its Spanish. (let not lay)
