When I worked at a courthouse.. You should have seen some of the lawyers, on court days... And some of the shite they would wear.. And I just remember thinking "if I hired a guy to represent me and he came dressed like that I would be pissed. How can a judge take them serious?"

On a regular basis, there was one lawyer who would wear dress pants, tennis shoes, a coat and tie, but the tie was always some silly theme.. Like Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny.. That's when he wore a tie.. If he didn't he would have a t-shirt on and a coat.. And the t-shirt would be something Disney or something corny.

There would be the blue jean, boot wearing lawyers who wore those cowboy type ties. Every once in awhile you would see one with a seersucker suit.. which wouldn't have been that bad if it didn't look like he had been wearing it for the past 30 years..

Most lawyers dressed... Well, like lawyers, but the ones that didn't.. I always wanted to know what made them think it was a good idea to dress they way they did.. I understand some people want to be original, but when it comes to business.. I don't know what makes people think it's a good idea to color outside the lines.

Yep. It's an antiquated belief. People need to get with the times
studies have shown, over and over, that people are more productive when they're dressed for work.

It's actually "in" now to wear no belt. Look at the people at like Wimbledon or something. Many of the people won't be wearing belts with their suites. Theory is if you have pants that fit right you don't need a belt.

If your pants have belt loops, you wear a belt. You can get some nice dress pants that don't have belt loops though.

I believe that not too much thought should be given into your attire. If you respect yourself and respect what you do, you will naturally select your clothing appropriately. Whether it is flashy, subtle, appropriate or inspiriate by modern social standards is irrelivent, you will wear it correctly.

In general, intelligent motivated people aren't going to improve productivity based on fashion of the day. People who half arse everything, more likely

Depends what kind of personality you have. Stifling environments can be a negative for creative people. Casual environments can be a hangup for critical thinkers or linear thinkers. Logical people are usually very structured and orderly. Creative people aren't.

As long as the chairs wear sport coats, I approve.

Oh, you don't know about chair coats?

It's when everyone wears a coat to the office, but the coats all end up on chairs.

Why wear the fracking jackets?

I worked for a big tech company for about a decade and a t-shirt, jeans and flip flops or Sperrys was acceptable attire unless meeting with clients.

Great. So, in addition to pants that are too short/tight and shirts that shrink wrapped on, now we have no belts....awesome.
