How do people in business have absolutely no idea how to dress?

I'm not talking overly specific complaints, but not wearing a shite green shite with a purple and orange striped tie should be obvious. It amazes me that there are so many "business professionals" who have absolutely no basic style knowledge.

Stick to basics and traditional pairings and you'll be fine and not look like a dumbass.

saw an intern wearing high waters, Penny loafers, suspenders, and bow tie yesterday.

Was dressed like his Mom dressed him for Easter Sunday when he was 5 years old.

It should be almost every employer's expectation to ask their employees to maintain a professional appearance for the line of work they are in.

Many don't realize this (unfortunately), but professional appearance is important in every single step of an employee’s working career.

An employee is a representation of the company who employs them and it is the employer’s objective to have their employees project a favorable image (if they are concerned with their "brand").

The manner and general appearance of an employee can greatly influence an employee’s measure of success within a company.

There's one guy here who wear brown shoes and black belts. I don't get how you can leave your house like that.

Agreed. I guess telling someone they dress like shite is like telling them they need to lose weight.

What management textbook did you copy/paste that out of?

I find that professional dress is a largely outdated concept for jobs that aren't public facing. Is there really a reason why Joe in accounting has to come to work every day with a shirt and tie other than that's because it's how it has always been done?

Nothing is wrong with either. Both are looking out for the recipient.
