Way different personality. My SO is really outgoing and energetic. I'm pretty laid back but I'm kinda of in the middle of outgoingness. Personality really isn't a huge factor in relationships IMO, caring/thoughtfulness and shared values are the best relationship characteristics.

I've never fully gotten how this happens. It seems to me that people who do this are just settling for each other or the dude was FZ'ed.

Pretty different, I'm very even keel and would never cheat. My fiance' however, She is severely bi-polar and has been cheating on me, the final straw and what ultimately caused me to spend the better part of two years in jail was coming home early from work and finding her......

If the two of you are alike, then one of you is not needed.

Very different. She sees the best in every one, almost to the point of naivete. She's also one of the nicest people on the planet. I, on the other hand, am a cynic.

We've been together more than 22 years.

I have to say me and the SO agree on the important stuff too, like children and finances...we are different as far as hobbies/interests. But I enjoy spending time with her of course, doesn't really matter what we do.

Same here with my SO. Works well this way

We are different in trivial things such as music, movies, tv shows etc. and are alike in things that matter.

I could never put up with someone who has nothing in common with me.

But this is too broad a question.

My SO and I have huge differences on some levels, and a ton of similarities on other levels.

Bottom line is that we deal with problems the same, have the same idea of what constitutes a good time, handle finances the same, etc.

The things that can be lethal to a relationship if you don't agree on them are all agreed on.

It was a broad question, but getting specific about this would be difficult. I, for instance, have a different existential view on the universe than my SO. At first mention, that doesn't sound like a big deal, but it really affects how we go about doing things.

Dude. Jerking it in the mirror does not mean you are in a relationship.

Personality wise we are very different. She's much more of an extrovert and wears her emotions on her sleeve. I'm mostly an introvert.

Also, she's religious (to a degree) and I'm agnostic.

I'm pretty philosophical about stuff, while she doesn't seem to think passed what's in front of her face.

We do have similar interests and tastes though. We are both very active and into fitness. We are both adventurous and fairly outgoing. We have a lot of fun together.

This describes my lady and I as well. Aside from me being more outgoing than her and little more aggressive, this is where the differences end. We have the same sense of humor, agree on all the important things, and we're both the same kind of weird lol we both also overthink everything which led me to breaking up with her two and a half years ago because I got inside my own head. We got back together less than a month later and haven't looked back. All in all we've been together for almost 5 years. She's my best friend.

We were very different. I hated all the music she listened to, movies she liked, etc.

But I loved hitting it.
