Would you prefer it the other way around? Which way works better?

we are similar in every way. we look the same and like the same things, have moles and scars in the same places..it's weird.

How long have you been dating/married? Have you dated people who were opposite of you?

PS: how is Seattle? Thinking about an internship there...

I hear you on that. I like that perspective.

yes have dated people the opposite from me, some I got along with and some I didn't. Would change a thing with this girl. Friends for over a decade but dating over a year now.

Seattle is beautiful right now but the rain will arrive exactly a month from today. Probably the fastest growing city in the U.S.

Ahh, friends first. I can see how that would be good.

Sounds like "winter is coming" in Game of Thrones . Is it really that bad?

Dated someone different and it was great, but soured after 5 years.

My current SO and I are pretty close to the same, and I think it will be much better. We enjoy doing the same things so there is no "settling" when we choose to go do something.

We're scarily alike, except that she's a virtuoso musician, and I have no musical ability whatever.

We are very different but compliment each other well. She lets me do my thing and I let her do hers.

Completely different.

I exist, she doesn't.

The ex and myself are a like, we are both oddly awesome, but unfortunately the Atlantic ocean separates us. I am seeing a new girl now and we have nothing in common besides cheering for Saints and LSU. She is hot and has a really good job but she's way to needy on me. The new girl wants me to move in with her so we can save money and this kind of freaks me out.

Differences:

We have different hobbies(his passion is mountainbiking and I'll only ride a bike on pavement); I'm much more cautious in nature than him.

Different views on social media. I embrace social media (hello have you seen all my posts here). He has a fb that he never uses and doesn't understand why I post here. I'm much more open about myself...he is very private.

Different passions: He is a political junkie and I barely remember to vote.

But we also have similarities

Our faith, views on children, where we want to live at, how we want to do our finances as a couple. The important stuff we agree on easily.

We both love to read and love the outdoors(just have different opinions on favorite outdoor activities).

We both are stubborn as hell.

5+ years. Engaged now as of June.

eta: reading nurse's post...I have to say me and the SO agree on the important stuff too, like children and finances...we are different as far as hobbies/interests. But I enjoy spending time with her of course, doesn't really matter what we do.

I think it bugs him sometimes that we don't share more interests.

We have been trying to develop more interests together(ex: kayaking, playing darts, talking about buying road bikes and going cycling together)

We are very different, but enjoy a lot of the same things if that makes sense.

I've dated girls that are a lot like me and it didn't work that well

I tried dating an aggie, didn't work. Tried dating a liberal, didn't work.

My current SO went to LSU, has similar values, beliefs, and work ethic. Personality wise I am very spontaneous and a risk taker, she is the opposite which works out well to keep me in check. I'm a big partier, she will party but usually keeps it under control. We don't have to spend every waking moment together, but when we are together we enjoy the same things. We work in the same industry and can help each other out in growing in our jobs which is good in my opinion.

Only thing she wants to do together that I refuse is to workout/go running. I'm not exercising with a girl.

Wifey and I are both Aggies and both active duty military--I like those similarities.

We are different ethnically and in many interests: she's very much a girly girl, and I love my sports. We both like working out and many of the same movies and cuisine, though.

I like that our differences keep us on our toes and force us to cultivate joint interests.
