Are you going to tell me that integration didn't destroy public education in this country?

Yes.

I'll also tell you that if schools were still segregated, I wouldn't have gone to LSU and gotten my BA and MS. If you had your way, I'd be much worse off socio-economically so forgive me for taking it personally.

I dare you to go sit in a classroom in a public school and come out after being in there for an hour and still say that you disagree with me

I went to public school. In EBRP.

My kids go to public school too. But my wife and I value education enough to have left EBRP and moved to a good public school system. My neighbors, red yellow black and white all send their kids to good schools. And we didn't have to segregate by race...imagine that!

I'll never convince you not to be a bigot, but know that you are wrong when you say that a lot of people think like you.

Yes and no. Teachers are paid just fine considering they work 182 days a year. Plenty of benefits, time off and the ability to be home by 330. Get a master's degree and a teacher will make $50k by the time they're vested in the retirement system.

By increasing the pay and coinciding this with much more stringent college curriculum making it more difficult to achieve a degree in education, it will attract smarter students out of high school which will ween out the teachers that really shouldnt be teaching anyone at all.

The only correct answer is to privatize the entire thing.
