A small amount of money can get you a decent-sized house, good restaurants, and minutes from fishing....

No problem with it at all.

I enjoy Houma. Its not glamorous by any means but its a nice place to live (west side). Theres a good amount of quality girls down here too. Vandebilt puts out some talent.

My class sure did. That being said, a lot of them have gotten super fat and are still living with mommy and daddy

I know the fishing is god but I wish there was better duck/deer hunting in the immediate area.

Where you going to college?

Nichollls

Wow you must've met like what, two people from Houma who did this?

I grew up there. It's not that bad. Most of my HS classmates moved away for college- LSU or out of state. Some returned after college to start their families. Most moved on. Good place to raise a family but not exactly the place I'd choose if I were single. I don't think it deserves the amount of hate it gets tho. Working in Lafayette and having experienced it's version of nightlife and "culture" I'd say the two cities are equal.

There's some okay duck hunting, but you've got to have access to property. I don't think I could work for SLB. I know people that moved over from there and they hated dealing with them. I think SLB is getting their butts kicked in completions as well and are downsizing in the area. I lived there for a while (wasn't bad because i was married). Sucks when you are single. Good news is you will move on to different places quickly if you have an engineering degree.

The quality of the talent coming out of Houma and Lafourche was a pleasant surprise when I arrived at Nicholls.
