River Oaks isnt new Canaan or Greenwich. It's affordable. They need better jobs.

Why in the hell would you want to live in a place where more people are coming in every day? There are too many damn people where I live and it's nowhere near as big as Houston.

The best part of these threads are folks from BR whose entire Houston experience is driving through Houston once during rush hour and then bitching about Houston traffic

I hear you. Traffic is all about choice of where you want to live and work in Houston.

River Oaks is affordable? Um, where. Seriously, is there like a poor part of RO? I was browsing HAR and a house built in the 60's with no upgrades was going for 1.2 million

This. Try to live and work outside the beltway . You should be ok.

Moving to Houston was definitely the best decision of my career. There is no way my quality of life would have been this good if I had stayed in Baton Rouge or New Orleans.

Grew up in Katy. Just moved from Tomball to Cypress and love the Fairfield area. The scenery certainly sucks but the positives make up for it. And I don't deal with traffic. I just use back streets to get to work. Takes twenty minutes.

If I ever worked downtown I'd just use the park and ride.

When I lived in Tomball I never really went to katy, where I grew up. Now that i am in cypress its easy with 99. It's crazy how much it's changed since I left ten years ago. Feels weird going back there and doing stuff with my family that I did as a kid.

In the loop is about the same as BR, and BR has to be one of the worst places in America for infrastructure.
