Participants in the Texas Brotherhood Ride, honoring fallen law enforcement officers, completed their journey of approximately 500 miles Friday, July 14, 2017 arriving at Baton Rouge Police Headquarters. The team honored the five officers killed in Dallas July 7, 2016 before making the trek to pay their respects to Deputy Brad Garafola, Officer Matthew Gerald and Corporal Montrell Jackson slain in Baton Rouge July 17, 2016 ambush shootings.
And now for the Mayor of Baton Rouge ...
Continuing to work that phone ...
Must be important to be on the phone while Chief Dabadie is speaking ...
So she can check her phone during a memorial, but doesn't check credentials for a Chief Administrative Officer? Makes sense.
Meanwhile, Budweiser gets it ...

Just because she's being a count, doesn't mean you need to be an a-hole.
I'll say a prayer and keep those brave men in my thoughts, I'll teach my kid to do the same. If the mayor wants to be a count then that's her choice, no need to make a thread about the negative.

How can that as an option enter your brain?

Why not show the mayor as a POS during an honoring of people who dedicated their lives to the community? She represents the people, but yet can't be professional or a half way decent human.
But god bless those officers/deputies and the families.

I don't know if she was there, but I can almost guarantee you that she did not (or would not) act this way for the services of Saint Alton or any Memorial that has taken place since his tragic and unexpected death.

I think it is absolutely appropriate to show the utter lack of respect and common sense that Broome displays on a regular basis. If she is going to be there she should not be on her phone. Period.

Embarrassing.
I am continually amazed that a person who has spent so much time in public service can be so clueless. Hell, after watching 5 episodes of West Wing even the most inexperienced politicians can pick up on the obvious respect that should be displayed during memorials like this.
Union should pull a page out of her book and issue a statement demanding an apology from her to the families of the slain.
Much like her letter to Dabadie to fire his officers before due process, it will likely fall on death ears. But at least her lack of character will be further exposed.
