I know this varies by career & some professions (lawyer, doctor) require additional schooling, but anyone out there make serious bank (i.e. over 100K) right out of college with your first job? If so, what are you doing?

I made a fricking killing in plastics right out of school.

This board is primarily made up of engineers I feel like. You're about to get 1. Dishonest high salary answers 2. Honest high answers and 3. Tree fiddy
With that being said, I'll give a range to make myself feel better. 30-50k

You're going to get high numbers from:
- Engineers
- Analysts (when they take their dinner break)
- Operators (when they have enough time between OT shifts)

I'm a engineer, and mine was not high.

I started at 55k as an Electrical Engineer.
I am single with no kids so it was more than enough.

the pay for my first job was poverty level for the degree(engineering,) but I had a plan, and knew that it was a means to an end, worked out OK

I got $65k right out of school as a business services consultant.

Because you finished in Civil Engineering from Auburn.
I guess I should clarify that the number will be high from Engineering going into O&G related fields.

Yep. Entry level chemical engineering jobs at Exxon, Chevron, and Shell are close to six figures right now. Tons of new shite being built and all three companies are headhunting against each other.

My brother is in dental school, and he told me that most dentists start out at around 150k. Also, many dentists work 4 days a week.
150k for 80% of the normal work week. Let that sink in.

My buddy came out of LSU(26 years old) with a ChemE degree, working for GE making $127k at his first job
Eta: I started at $27.5k a year later. I stayed at that job for a year and a half, and went back to school. Now, people with my degree start out making $60k

Actuary and I started 60k. If I get through the gauntlet of exams at the pace I want, I'll be at 80k by December not included merit raises and bonus

not a ton of $, especially factoring in student loans, office lease, dental equipment, staff, insurance, etc, if that figure's correct, I'd say he'd be in the hole

My first job I traveled A LOT, made a little under 180k. Had 100k in expenses. In the end the travel every week wasn't worth 80k. Got a real job after that.

I've seen a graduate job with either Barclays or JP Morgan that was £80,000, so thats about $130,000 for people straight out of college.
