DJ'ing - things people do that don't have real music skills.

Wow, he can spin two records at one time and make them join together in one beat.

How much different would it sound if he just didn't touch the sound board at all? I notice parts where the music sounds like the rest of the song on its own and he's just waving his arms around.

They dont do shite anymore

Most of them just pop in a CD. Tiesto, Afrojack, Aoki, Deadmau5, fig Gueta etc

DJs should be required to use technics and records so we know it isnt bullshite

Meh...todays DJs have so much shite to help them out that anyone spending some time messing with the same PC programs could put together something that sounds like a beat.

No different than rappers. the only difference between a "successful" rapper and just a regular black dude from the projects is the amount of mix tapes he was able to sucker someone into buying.

I listen to a good bit of music. From folk , to classic rock, to alt country, to indy rock, to new alternative, but for the life of me I cannot get into EDM/electronic/DJ type music.

Nah. Country music all sounds the same. You have a lazy ear if you think all dance music is equal.

When did DJing become geeky?

It was never "cool", but Scruffy never thought of it as geeky.
