The runners ran into the catcher. I saw the catcher just stand there and lift her arm to protect herself because the runners were running at full speed right towards her. What was she supposed to do?

She's not elbowing anyone from what I saw, but she sure was bracing for the blow to deflect the runner. It was definitely in poor form and she should have been ejected from the game.
But it is definitely true that the second girl knew what was up, but when she walked up to her, realized she wanted no part of that action
. I guess it's not the same for girls and rubber cleats, but you slide spikes up next time you send someone home and they'll get the message. I don't care if she has leg guards on, put the cleats in her hips if you have to.

they handled it well. Good for the catcher for getting away with it today. She won't next time. She put a target on her back now.

Get out of the baseline. If you don't have the ball, impeding a runner is obstruction.

Normally I hate the notion of "pussification," but it's awful how there was no retaliation.
Being just a few years removed from youth sports, it's driven into your head that retaliation is wrong no matter what, and that's bull shite imo.
