One could make the argument that not having a particular type of insurance is a conscious gamble on one's part, particularly in certain areas of the country.

... unless you're a worthless sack of shite. Then don't worry about it because someone will pay your way.

You are full of shite in this thread. OP's info is accurate.
The SBA loan is for his residence, not a business.

No. Because others don't even have to worry about the gamble.

I don't envy them. I despise them and the system that supports them.

Q: Does my income need to be under a certain dollar amount to qualify for disaster aid?

A: FEMA’s Housing Assistance program is available, regardless of income, to anyone who suffered damages or losses in disaster-declared counties. However, aid for other losses such as personal property, vehicle repair or replacement, and moving and storage expenses is income-dependent and officials make decisions on a case-by-case basis. To be considered for a grant for these types of losses, the applicant must complete an application for an SBA loan.

Sounds like your personal property and vehicles may not be replaced if you qualify for the loan, but housing assistance, including repairs, isn't income-based or credit-based.

ditto

But still I wouldn't spend too much energy on them considering they aren't anything that I would envy. I'd personally spend the energy on the ones that run the system and are not living like worthless bums but sitting up like fat cats in the beurocracy

Basically, if you have a high credit score, you will qualify for an SBA Loan, which means you are inelegible to receive a grant from FEMA.

Wrong.

The SBA is the Small Business Administration. I don't think they're in the business of giving residential loans. But I'm just a layman.

You can make 6 figures and have bad credit. The two dont have to go hand in hand.
