I don't have a good feeling about this being in Karen Carter Peterson's "kill" committee.

Alexandria just tabled an ordinance considering getting rid of a statue near City Hall due to ownership concerns

Don't you mean time to move on to removing the next round of monuments? This insanity won't stop until a state law is passed and becomes law. The Confederate statues are the easiest ones to target but now the pro-removal crowd is setting its sights on Washington, Jackson, and White among others in Nola.

Drip by drip they will continue as long as people take the attitude of defeat and complacency.

Well time to pressure the full Senate to override the committee vote.

I hope she does kill it. This is lamest kind of cynical, showboat politics.

If the state leg had actually wanted to do anything about preserving monuments, they had a year-and-a-freakin-half to do it between the NO City Council's vote to remove them in Dec 2015 and when they actually came down.

Peterson sounds like Tara Wicker, lot of noise and no substance. Just loves to hear herself talk.

Even if the committee kills it, the Senators on the floor can vote to bring it directly to the floor for a vote. This isn't over today one way or the other.

The attitude all Leftists love to hear and have thrived on for so long, since it generally means they've won, gotten their way, and so then can "move on" to the next upset they have waiting in queue.
