put your dog to sleep. she's old. probably has some pain from time to time, but i bet she still enjoys your company, taking a nap, eating when she gets around to it and being alive.

Man, unfortunately it's time......Every inch of me says no, but I can't let her suffer like she is

I had people tell me that mine was suffering and I should put her down...
not eating, drinking or moving around at all for two days...
but you could tell she was not in any pain...
here I am two days later and she's eating, drinking and has been outside a couple of times...you can tell she feels better...

glad they didn't put me down because I wasn't eating drinking and sleeping for a few days...

So rough losing a great dog. Took me two years to get a new one. Not the same but it's still better to have a dog than not have one

You are totally doing the right thing. It's gets to a point where the animal is suffering so much, it's selfish and sadistic to want to keep them around while they're in such a bad condition. You're a humane, responsible and compassionate dog owner. You know what the right thing to do is, for you and your pet.

The best method I have ever been taught for equating a dogs age to human years is:

First dog year = 19 for a human
Then 5 years for every one human year.

Following that she made it the equivalent of about 89 people years...That's a pretty good run.

Sorry about your pup. She looks like she was probably a good'n.

Dude, that is a tough thing to do. I cried like a baby when I had to put my last dog down. The quickest way to get over it is to get another dog ASAP.

Have to agree. They aren't wives. They don't need a respectful amount of time.

I sat with mine about 9 months ago and fed her the meat patty out of a whataburger, while I ate the fries and squalled like a girl.

Sorry.

Mine would have turned 15 this November. Had to do the same May 2015. It's tough man. One day at a time.

God Bless my brother, My little Shiz shu will be 13 here shortly and I know the day is coming also. At least our lives will have been made better and us made better men because of what these forgiving female Canines have taught us.

When you know, you know.

We just had to put down our family's 13 year old beagle, Bits, about 3 months ago. My brother got her in 2004 and my parents took over taking care of her when he passed in 2009. So it was especially hard to let her go and almost felt like letting go of that last little piece of him. She was having severe seizures that meds struggled to control and had developed Cushing's. It was definitely time with how she was suffering. Sorry for your loss.

I had to put down one about 10 years ago. Did the same thing. Took him to Wendy's and let him EAT the night before. I still have not been back to that Wendy's since and I hate even looking at it. Just brings back that sad night.
