Wether a house you grew up in, a house you raised kids in, etc. Has anyone been in town or around old stomping grounds and just wanted to take a walk down memory lane?

Basic knock on the door, introduction, explanation, and ask if you could look around for old times sake.

Were you welcomed, resistance given, or weirdo vibes so just left. Interested to hear the responses.

The house my cousins grew up in is now an airbnb. They spent Christmas there.

I visited the house I grew up. It was smaller than I remember. Neighborhood too.

Never have gone in. When nearby, I will usually drive by and take a look. There's also Google Street view.

The old house I grew up in is gone now. Termites had been a problem in the past and I guess the people who bought the property after my mom passed away 6 years ago had it condemned.

I grew up on Hickman AFB in Honolulu. I’d love to go see that house one day.

Sounds like someone trying to case a house for a future burglary.

No thanks.

My FIL grew up in Scotland. When we were there earlier this summer, we made contact with the current owners and they let us walk through. I thought that was pretty cool of them.

I grew up in a really rough part of town until I was about 10 years old. It’s gotten even tougher over the last 30 years. I have 0 desire to go back there.

I've thought about it before, but obviously have not done it. But I drive by it every time I'm back in Baker for something else.

I mainly want to see how it looks on the inside now, and I want to see my old playroom and see how small it actually is (because it felt so huge when I was a kid). I miss that house.

My basketball goal I got for Christmas in like 1987 or 88 is still there though.

I pass by the house I grew up in from time to time. It was recently sold, so we were able to see the photos of it while it was on the market. It was neat to see all of the changes that were made. They filled in the swimming pool.

Lived in my childhood home for 16yrs and have gone back inside 2-3 times bc the same man who bought it still lives there. My feet and hand prints are still at the end of the driveway.

Our old neighborhood has seen better days. I drive by it sometimes when I'm in the area, but I haven't been inside it in over 20 years. My dad still owns the place but rents it out.
