Every day, see, I have stolen a body from the heap to inhabit as my own. God sold it to me and for only another 100 shekels I could have had a more handsome model. I went the thrifty route..

My uncle who rented for 20 something years decided to finally buy a 1st floor condo in NOLA. In June 2005.

I'm no expert but I wouldn't qualify that as buyers remorse. Just an unfortunate series of events.

Gasonline.

I purchase, from myself, patience to deal with my girlfriend. So there is that.

We're in our first house back in the mid 90s, and had rearranged the furniture to make more "living space". My business just started to take off, so on the way home after a charity dinner event, we stopped in a Circuit City to just look around. An hour later, I'm back home putting together a Bose theatre. I still remember all the wires everywhere. Kept it for 2 weeks before returning it. Thing cost like 3k. Phew.

yep...my whole life, people have told me that renting is just throwing away money and that buying a house was the only way to go...

well, I finally broke down and bought a house...that was in late 2007...need I say more?....

Buying a house is MUCH more of a financial burden than renting

It's not always economically smart, but it does come with some benefits.

I'm going to break the rules a bit but I had remorse after refinancing my 2009 FHA loan on June 12th, 2013.

MIP rules changed on June 3rd, 2013. I got locked into a lifetime loan with MIP because I was ten days late. I had no idea either. Mortgage guy never mentioned it and I missed it in reading anything.

I'm now renting out that house and would have hit the 22% mark in August of 2015. I saved $130/month by refinancing but would have saved $235/month if I had waited not to mention the list equity.

THIS. I wore it three or four times. I don't even know where it is now. I smartened up and didn't buy a college ring.

Also, all kinds of fraternity shite. You load up on it when you're new and gung ho, and never wear/use it.

absolutely true...if I had kept renting, I would have saved enough cash to buy a house outright by now. have to say, it is nice not to have to frick noisy neighbors, etc.

House.

It's nice and I won't loose money on it or anything, but it's just too big and unnecessary for a single guy. I should have bought a man hut in the woods somewhere.

Hardest lesson I ever learned was when I bought my first truck. I came from a low income family and had to take out student loans to attend college while working a full time job as a restaurant cook. Needed a vehicle and my parents were to far in the poor house to assist. Went to Toyota dealership first and then to Nissan. Both told me I could not be financed because I had no credit. Not bad credit.....no credit history. Nissan salesman says he has a guy who can help me. Picks up the phone and calls some salesman named John at a high risk shithole dealership. I was elated that this guy would get me in a vehicle. I was so young, dumb, and naive that I ended up paying 15,000 for a 9,000 truck over 3 1/2 years. Payments were bi-monthly at around $220 every two weeks. I thought it was $220 a month. I was just so happy I got a car that I never even bothered to look at the terms to understand how bad I was getting fleeced. Hard and humiliating lesson to learn but that kind of stuff happens at times to young people who were not given proper financial guidance before having to go it on their own at an early age.
