I love how this drug rehab church comes all the way from Dallas to panhandle here because they know BRPD won't do a damn thing to enforce anti-panhandling laws.

Panhandlers are there because dipshits give them money.

I warn every friend or family member who comes to SF to NOT give any money to panhandlers, and Lord knows we have tons of them. SF spends way too much money on services for these folks for you to give them alcohol or shooting up money. Just don't give them any money and they will be on their way.

The worst are the kids with the homemade signs that claim that they are collecting for their basketball team yet they don't have any jerseys or anything. I got hit up by a few on the way home today. 2 girls and 2 boys. They were probably 12 years old and not an adult in sight at a busy intersection during rush hour

I was approached one day, and I was curious. I told the guy I have $10 but let me ask you a few honest questions. He said ok. I said be honest, why are you out here every day and not out trying to find a job. He says, well you said be honest so I will be. I can come out here for 3 or 4 hours and make about $350-$400. He said where you gonna find a job like that. I was speechless and handed him the money. Never again though will I do that after knowing what they can make. And that is in little ole Meridian Ms....

I travel all over the country and there are more bums and panhandlers than I ever remember seeing 10 to 20 years ago. Back in the day you only saw them in big cities scattered all over the US. Now they are everywhere not excluding Small Town USA. It's at epidemic proportions.

I feel sorry for the ones that are too messed up in the head to obviously hold down a job. You know the ones that are holding down a conversation with someone for 30 minutes yet there is no one there in front of them. Basically they are just talking to themselves.

But the bums that can work need to at least offer to clean your damn windshield or mow your yard for cash. I had a guy walk right up to me in Rouses with a sign saying he was deaf and dumb or some BS like that and was hungry. It's bad enough you get hassled in the parking lots but now these people are all up in the grocery store messing with you. I'm 47 so I've seen my fair share of bums. I liked it better when the cops just loaded them up and hauled them to a country road in some other parrish or county. This panhandle stuff has gotten out of control and it pisses me off.

Is panhandling technically illegal in BR? Seems like some of them I see act like they are legit. Like the baw I saw near Siegen Target last weekend.
