Do you realize how dumb this sounds?
I don't know, why don't you ask the millions of people alive today because of vaccines how they feel about it.

Hopefully none of them would say they were cured from the diseases the vaccines prevented them from having.
I certainly wasn't cured of polio.

Unless I'm missing something......
In an SHOCKED that no one meationed the eradication of a disease that has killed more people than any other in human history as a counterpoint accomplishment post 1955.

Taco Bell squirts are still very much a problem.

quote:and i am sure a friend or family member he knows has had cancer, don't you think if there was a secret cure for cancer people in the medical fields and the super wealthy would receive it?nobody is exempt from that shite.
I am friends with a biomedical engineer for a cancer research institute in Nashville and he is disgusted when he hears people say shite like this. I have talked to him about it a couple times.

cure/prevented, whatever
from a societal morbidity/mortality standpoint, prevention is far superior to cure

Come on, preventing any disease no matter how it's done is a cure.
Then we can go ahead and claim we have cured every infectious disease on the planet.
I call it.....THE BUBBLE HOUSE! Now with Oculus Rift support so you can experience the world you are missing from the complete safety of your own home!
Seriously, why don't you tell all the people who are symptomatic with polio how there is really a cure for their condition.

No doubt.

Ah, but they have been mitigated to the point that we feel that snarfing Doritos Locos Firey tacos to be anything other than the culinary equivalent of a suicidal death wish

There is a CURE for a lot of Cancers. It is called a surgical blade when caught early.

They have a very simplistic cure
Perhaps for one particular type of cancer, this may be true, but for cancer, period, no, no it's not.

Did you even read the link

They have dozens of potential cures out there.
The "infecting cancer with other diseases" is probably the most promising to be honest.

I love the " no money in cures argument. The healthcare system loses millions due to chronic illnesses. If there was a cure, someone would have found it. Actually, there is a "cure" for a lot of it. It's called exercise and eat right. Americans don't want to here that shite, though.

quote:O I'm with you. My wife's best friend is doing her MD/PhD research on cancer at the NIH. She's one of the nicest, most caring people I know (as well as one of the smartest). She (as well as her colleagues) wouldn't just let a miracle treatment or cure go unnoticed. They aren't involved in some conspiracy to suppress a cure like some have insinuated.
They have dozens of potential cures out there.

Apologies if I seemed to overstate. I'm more privvy to the latest happenings with it, so I feel pretty confident and excited based on what's going on right now. The funding is all in place, as well, but of course they're always taking more investors since more money equates to their ability to hire more people for quickened processes.
Very exciting stuff for their team. I've lost each one of my grandparents to cancer so we pray this can help millions.
