Knew his sister.

No pics, she was 70 when we first met.

Her husband was a well-known medico in the Metry area for years.

That's all I got.

PS: Weiss was guilty.

Huey Long was certainly no saint but he brought Louisiana out of the stone age.

Carl Weiss didn't kill Huey P Long. Huey P Long's poorly trained bodyguards killed Huey P Long. Those are facts my friends.

you know somebody who was there?

here's the facts. Weiss had little reason to be at the Capitol. Weiss had a motive. Weiss took 62 rounds.

Well, having read everything I could on this subject and having talked to some folks long ago who were 'close to the situation', I am still confused as to who killed Huey.

Weiss did go to the capitol and did confront Huey.

I have a close relative who was a nurse for Earl Long's doctor and knew Earl really well. She said in conversation with various connected folks they all thought that at least one bullet fired from a bodyguard hit Huey, possibly Weiss hit him with the other (I think there was a claim two bullets from two separate guns were found and this would explain it).

Regardless, Huey had made some racial statements about Weiss' wife's father, Judge Peavy(?) and Weiss felt insulted and decided to confront Huey.

I also know that the representative from Huey's own parish had just had a confrontation with Huey in another part of the building and Huey rushed out of that meeting, down the hall and was shot. Initially investigators thought the legislator who had confronted Long was involved in a conspiracy.

By the way, a lot of folks were carrying guns around the capitol then as tempers were high and assassination clubs were meeting all across LA planning a way to oust Huey.

I knew one old timer who attended some of the meetings and he said there was no doubt someone was going to kill Huey Long.

Regardless, like Huey or not, he did more for out poor assed state in a few years than anyone prior had. Some of y'all will refute it, and Huey did some bad stuff I know, but if not for some of his accomplishments your poor assed families would have lost your ancestors at birth because they had no access to a hospital.

Anyone wants to argue I can post a few of Huey's accomplishments and we'll debate, by golly.

Nah, we changed the name of the school, so we're clear from a PR standpoint. Just like Kobe changing his number.
