I believe they are adjoining lots, as I had to hit Bass Pro Drive to go anywhere in Dallas off the property.

Is that the place connected to Bass Pro?

I am not sure if it is connected, but I did see there is a Bass Pro in Grapevine, Tx.

Does someone just pick you up and throw you on a slide? Trying to understand the logistics of this trip for you.

I can't lie to you. GWL is miserable. We live about 20 minutes away and I've spent way too many days there to even try to play it up.

The indoor wave pool is way too warm and oily.
Blue Bayou has more slides with more intensity.
The drinks are hot and there never seems to be enough ice.
The rooms - even upgraded - are mid-level Holiday Inn without the upgraded mattresses.
The food is meh, at best. Have fun eating at a buffet a bunch of kids have mouth breathed all over.

The magic wand game is fun for a couple hours but the elevators are always full and remarkably slow. Most give up and just use the stairs.

We've been 4 of the past 5 years and my kids love it. I'll continue to go back until they say otherwise. Not sure what's not to like. Very convenient having hotel inside the park. Don't have to leave to go to restaurants though we usually do, can drink by the pools and you can stay inside the indoor park when it's 100 degrees outside. BeAts the shite out of dragging my kids and all their stuff to the beach. 3 days is plenty anything more everyone would start to be bored imo. Also have top golf and Dave busters nearby

Chris, I'm of the opinion a place is as much fun as you make it.

I'll give you $100 if you find one of those wave simulators and video yourself riding it.

I've been with the kids. Stayed two nights. You can start using the waterpark, I think, at 1 pm the day you arrive, and continue to use it until it closes the day you depart.

They have a number of other kids activities there, such as an arcade, these "quest" games, character stuff, etc (they have their own cast of characters).

The whole point of places like that is they don't want you to leave, so you keep spending money there.

The buffet is decent, at best. We probably could have done one night there and been fine.

But... you are in a good area. So... get out and do some other things. Go see a Rangers game. Shop if that's your thing. Go explore Ft Worth.

GWL Scale:

Age 3-5, 1 day u good

Age 6-8, 2 days u good

Age 9-12, 3 days u good

Age 13 plus 1 day u good.

Age 14 plus 3 hours max

They only people that spend 5 days there is either employees or has been left by there family.

That would be a terriable punishment to spend 5 days at that piss hole.

Head across the street to the Gaylord Texan. Out back they have the Glass Cactus bar over looking the lake. Plenty of parking back there, as I remember.

If you end up going you could kill 30 minutes going to the park on the NW end of DFW airport and watch the planes.

You are on your own the other 4 days 23 hours and 30 minutes.

It was great, for my kids. Has indoor and out door water park. 2 days max though. It's not attached to bass pro but it's seconds away. Grapevine mills mall is right there. It has an aquarium and Legoland. why anyone would go there if they didn't have kids is beyond me. No freaking way if I'm kidless, I'm going hang for 5 days in a kid infested place like that.

Pretty sure the people that are going plan on having a nice time. Maybe OP should go be miserable someplace else and not ruin it for everybody.

He doesn't have to be a dick about it but no way in hell I'd spend 5 days there unless I was waking up every morning and heading out somewhere else for the day

And I hate buffets. I avoid them at all cost. It's just something about the idea of people hovering over the food you are about to put in your plate doesn't do it for me.

There's a restaurant and an outside bar that serves food. There's no buffet. It's a nice place. This ain't "Land o pines"
