My wife labored naturally for a long arse time. It was a hell of a lot of work and pain for her and I didn't have to do squat except provide support. She deserved recognition for that. We are financially secure so Fiscal responsibility doesn't play into it like it might with younger couples. I got her nice earrings and necklace with our daughter's birth stone that she can eventually pass down to our daughter. I don't regret it for an instant.

I always got my wife some nice jewelry, she likes it. I get her nice shite, she takes care of me and is an impeccable mother. I don't do shite but work and cook a little. I don't know why treating your wife nice is so terribly viewed.

Ditto. Easy gesture. Nice roi.

Yeah, I always here about married guys bitching about not getting any action. I wonder if they don't share the views expressed in this thread

How much do some modest gem stone earrings cost nowadays. $300? That's the least of bills if you're having a baby.

My wife did not ask for or expect a "push present" but I got her some pearls anyway. To me it was just a reasonable excuse to buy her something I know she wanted and didn't have yet.

Now gender reveal parties are a different story. I find them absurd and a little selfish. Don't waste my Saturday afternoon with that shite b/c frankly outside of immediate family nobody really cares if you have a boy or girl.

I guess so. Maybe I am just old enough now to realize that the universe does not revolve around me anymore. I'm sure you will have a rational reason that makes me feel like a complete arse but I have yet to find one yet.

My reason was depends on how hot she is. So no, probably not too rational

There's nothing wrong with wanting to buy your wife a gift here and there or even after her giving birth to your child, I just find it odd that some women demand and expect something.

Touche. I would suggest that if she wants a gender reveal party with you, then you already possess that female. And therefore, there is no reason to ruin your male friend's saturday afternoon tee time.

I think that doing something nice for your wife is good enough...i.e. let her get a mani/pedi after so she can have some alone time without baby or take her out to dinner as a couple and let the grandparents watch the baby.

Why does she need a gift? You already gave her a baby.

My children were gift enough for me.

Hahaha, j/k, no one likes kids. I got pumped full of drugs and some extra to take home. THAT's gift enough for me.
