Cyclists pose less of a safety threat and have less money than motorists, hence such light enforcement.
The other night I was biking in Brooklyn and I saw a cop so I stopped at a red light with no traffic. The cop rolled down his window and told me to go ahead.

Would you prefer that cyclists stop at every stop sign and red light? You realize that would make your drive time longer, right? You would bitch either way.

Actually have 2 degrees from Alabama (Business and Marketing). I have lived here in Tuscaloosa all my life.
I have friends who are LSU and Auburn fans. I get along with almost everybody.
I dont mind cyclists who have respect for others on the road. I dislike the a-hole cyclists who think the road is for them only. I really hate the large groups of riders. I have a neighbor down the street who is an avid cyclist, however he does not stop for red lights or stop signs. He likes to ride on a 2 lane road that is very curvy and has a speed limit of 55. That is dangerous because people come around a corner doing 55 and there is this a-hole in the road. I understand they have as much right to the road as I do, but if I were going to ride I would do it in a location that did not endanger myself or other motorists.

Let's get real. Farmers are the real assholes when they drive their tractors on Farm-to-market roads. Sonsabitches is what they are. I come around a corner designed for 55MPH and that SOB is driving down the road at 20mph. fricking farmers!!!

the worst is when you and several other cars finally pass the cyclist, then have to stop at a red light. then, as youre stopped, the fricker passes everyone in line and makes the whole process start over again after the light turns green.

No, I've never seen one stop at a stop sign. I don't think they can see them with their heads so far up their asses.

Ha. But seriously, I think the vitriol is misdirected. The reason cyclists don't obey the laws more than they do is because they get away with it so much. Fair or not, cops have limited resources, and cracking down on cyclists not stopping at stop signs is nowhere near the top of the agenda. And why would it be? There are cars killing people.

Maybe seen it twice in my entire life.
I did once see a cyclist try to roll through a red light and get smoked by the car right in front of me turning right. No serious injuries so I was very pleased
