My buddy who finished #1 in our class and clerked for SCOTUS has a photographic memory and I do not. I was not accommodated.

One of yall should take my case.

I thought the LA bar was easy, but they do say it's a tough exam.

I have a feeling lots of the people I went to law school with wouldn't have passed the MBE portion. It's unlike anything they have ever had to study for, really.

Luckily for me, the MBE saved my arse when I took the MS Bar. I'm really good at tests like that.

I know of some smart big firm lawyers who tried to test in to both NY and CA recently and had real issues. As far as I can tell both of those states' reputations are still deserved.

So it looks like they may not have adopted the MBE multiple choice thing that almost every other state does, but they have adopted a uniform test that several other states are using.

We also had kids transfer in from lesser schools and the policy was to allow them to keep their GPAs from those schools for use in class ranking.

Funny enough, the girl who everyone disliked the most had extra time on her test but had absolutely no handicap at all. That's the type of bitch that would walk up to your computer if you weren't around and erase everything on it.

If a normal person gets 50% extra time, you could sit there, outline dump, then draft a well thought out paper. It's easy to score high with all that extra time.

And every attorney that graduated from Harvard just saw their wage earning capacity take a hit because of this idiot.

MBE is brutal

Not because it is that hard (I mean, it's challenging), but because it's a slog.

Honestly, I just found myself getting angry with the MBE because a good attorney could argue 2 or even 3 of the top answers.

Frustrating test.

Had a couple of those.

Even had some dumbfrick attempt to cheat on a test by scheduling a make up 2 days after the normal test. She went to the normal test, read it over and walked out. Just about every single person in the room, including the proctor, noticed that someone dipped out of a 3 hour test after 20 minutes.

Needless to say, her plan did not work.

I'm planning on taki the FE on paper. Had to jump through loopholes at LSU to get my computer-based tests taken on paper. My brain just doesnt comprehend stuff well via a computer screen becau of ADD and a head injury effecting my memory. It is a humongous PITA to go through, but I'm not gonna take it until I am allowed to do that.

Bottom line is that she shouldn't have taken it until she got approved for her special accommodations

Eta: During regular tests in school, my brain sometimes just shuts off and nothing is coming in or going out. I cannot process anything. Usually sit there and literally do nothing for 10-20 minutes, and then turn in my paper wherever I stopped. I could get extra time, but I've never asked for it throughout both of my degrees because I feel it gives me an unfair advantage (when I actually am at a disadvantage normally). Yes I have bad grades, but they are enough for me to stay in school and still be compared to my peers.

IRL is completely different. That rarely happens....maybe once or twice a year

I hate to brag, but when I say I am good at tests like that, I mean I'm REALLY good at tests like that.

What was it, 6 hours? Broken up into 2, 3-hour segments? I remember I finished the first section in about 45 minutes, the second section in about an hour (?). All I remember was that I finished in under half the time allotted for both exams. Passing score was I think 125/200, and I got almost 180 right.

Some of the people I went to law school who did not get extra time in school got to take the LA bar in a separate room with extra time on each section apparently.

Honestly, who would want all that extra time unless you realllllly need it? The test is exhaustive as is. You'd be in there all night.

It was definitely one of those situations where someone did something so stupid that even taking 30 seconds to think it through would lead anyone to the conclusion that there's no way it could possibly work.

Like, how did you make it this far and think something like that could have EVER worked out?

To be fair that's probably a common defense/mitigating circumstance in ethical/disciplinary hearings as well.
