I must say, maybe this makes me a bad person, but I wouldn't want a lawyer who suffers memory loss and has cognitive difficulties. And add depression to that? Seems like the makings of a horrible lawyer..

All of this. And if I were to hire her firm and that's the lawyer I got, I would take my business elsewhere.
ETA: unless of course there is a time limit for filing something and I don't get it in on time. Then I want the person that gets the extra time to file paperwork.

What does being cold called by professors mean?

Socratic method.

Sometimes the prof will lecture, but for a lot of classes, especially first year classes, you are assigned reading before each class and the class time is just the prof calling on people at random to discuss what the reading was. Difficult to bullshite your way through because anyone who has actually read the material can pretty easily tell if someone didn't actually read. Also you will probably piss the teacher off if you try to BS your way through it.

Can be fairly high pressure your first semester or so. It get's you reading and taking notes on what you read because you don't want to look like a dumbfrick/lazy in front of your classmates.

Generally, if you get cold called and aren't prepared to discuss the assigned reading in relative detail some teachers will dock you a third of a letter grade if it happens enough times in a semester.

Cold calling keeps you paying attention, and when you're on call you generally have the prof asking you questions that apply the reading material to a hypothetical situation. As in, you probably have to have enough understanding of what you read to actually apply it to something else, and not just regurgitate a summary of the reading.

Sure you do.

ETA: Hopefully obvious sarcasm. I know lots of white people with silly names.

We'd lose points but also get kicked out of class if it was obvious we weren't prepared. Rationale being they weren't going to let you benefit from listening to the discussion from other students who were prepared.

We had some jokers who were just happy to be there, so seriousness of purpose was drilled into us from day one.

It never really affected me and my friends, though.

I'm sorry she got jacked up in an ATV accident but I don't want a lawyer who suffers from memory loss.

No way, no how.

in what world is she living thinking that going into BigLaw with Anxiety, Depression and Memory Loss is a good idea?

Eh, she would've developed them by her second year anyway.

I wonder if she also asked for a test that wasn't as culturally biased. I don't understand why the man is always gentrifying our genius.
I think they should give her her "Safe Space" on welfare.
I also don't understand how she could sustain all these "injuries" from a car wreck while driving a '78 Impala 16 MPH?

When she first applied to take the bar exam, Wyche alleges that she requested to be given 50% extra-time, stop-clock breaks and a private testing room. She also alleges that she attached letters from doctors confirming her diagnoses and a letter from Harvard that confirmed she received similar accommodations from the law school.

Serious question...how can she effectively perform the stressful and mentally-intensive job duties associated with the legal profession if she claims to have such a disorder?

Or is the judge and any apposing attorney expected to alter their approach in the court room to cater to her mental deficiency?

The board initially denied all her requests but upon appeal allowed her extra break time and a smaller testing room, her suit claims. She failed after having panic attacks during the exam, she alleges, and her standing as a “star” associate at Ropes & Gray took a hit, she alleges.

She wasn't even an associate yet. What the frick. R&G would've eaten her alive and she'd have jumped off the fricking GWB within a year.

Discovery surrounding her claim to be a "star" associate should be fun.
