Or is the judge and any apposing attorney expected to alter their approach in the court room to cater to her mental deficiency?

As with many others in this thread, you seem to believe that typical lawyers are trial lawyers.

Very possible, borderline likely that she could have a long career as an attorney and never speak to a judge or a lawyer for the other side.

According to the complaint, Tamara Wyche claims the New York State Board of Law Examiners violated the Americans With Disabilities Act when they refused to provide special accommodations to her when she sat for the bar exam. Wyche claims to suffer from depression and anxiety disorder, in addition to cognitive difficulties, including memory loss, as the result of a 2009 ATV accident.

Just the kind of person someone would want as a lawyer.

She should sue the ATV company.

She probably already sued someone about that accident.

Do you want a lawyer with memory loss representing you?

When she first applied to take the bar exam, Wyche alleges that she requested to be given 50% extra-time, stop-clock breaks and a private testing room. She also alleges that she attached letters from doctors confirming her diagnoses and a letter from Harvard that confirmed she received similar accommodations from the law school.

How can she make it as a lawyer? Someone must not have their homework when hiring her. What kind of asset would she be to ANY law firm?

My wife passed the Texas bar 1 month after having a baby with health issues and moving cross country from Iowa. She was able to study for less than 100 hours, and came out of exams saying things like "I had to make up laws for that one". You only need a D to pass.

Unless Harvard somehow massively failed to teach her, how can this be anyone's fault but hers?

Passing the bar doesn't mean you have to go work for some huge firm. She could start her own firm, take fewer cases. Some attorneys never even really see court, they just send out things with their name on it and the relevant letters after their name.

I can't fathom asking for 50% more time.

I've always been a great test taker and usually am one of the first couple to finish. The only tests that took me longer were ones that I was not prepared for and blew off studying for.
