I can get you very lightly blemished top of the line mattresses for very cheap. Literally nothing wrong except a small stain or tear in the packaging. Let me know if you're interested and I can get you a detailed list with prices.
You make this sound illegal or something. What's your catch?

Catch is that my best friends dad just sold his furniture business and has a ton of blemished units.

Go to a mattress store and find the style you like (foam/spring/hybrid/etc) and then go online and buy it from Amazon. It can be hard to keep track of what is what thanks to the janky names Mattress stores add on to brand and type, but if you find one that you like, look into what it's made of, what the layers consist of, and then go online and find one that is similar. That's what I did last year and got a very nice hybrid king size mattress for probably half the prices the stores were showing, and I didn't have to do any b.s. bargaining on ridiculously overpriced stuff. And when I got the mattress delivered it was exactly what I wanted and one of the best purchases I've ever made.

Bought a new mattress within the last 6 months from Mattress Firm. Their margins on a company level are around 30-35% best I could find. Treat the mattress like you would buy a car, start at 35% off and walk out if you don't get at least 25% off. If your responsible and can pay a note, the find a 0% financing deal. The stores get net backs on those agreements and they work in your favor if you just pay it off right away.
Sticker price on my mattress 3500, paid 2500.

Jizz on the mattress you want, then tell the sales guy you noticed some jizz on the one you want, but would be willing to look past that for 75% discount

6.25% a little more than sales tax. Plus it was only $1600 worth of furniture; if you can get a 20% discount on that you ought to write a book about price negotiating or something--hell, if you're than good I'd read it.

Shady looking mattress place at NE corner of Florida and flannery. Got a hybrid queen for $1000 from him. He will customize it to whatever firmness you want. He also gives a lifetime warranty. And he will adjust the firmness if you decide it's not right after you bought it.

If I recall correctly, every retailer has the various models from each manufacturer named something different so they can tell you no other retailer has their particular models (so you can't shop them with other retailers). However, the same models always began with the same letter (eg Cadillac and Carpathia models in different stores would be the same). At least that's what I remember when we bought a mattress 5-6 years ago. The Matress Firm on Seigen gave us the lowest price when we first walked in without haggling so we gave them our business.

Go to Sams or Costco. Best price possible without haggling.

Until I was in the market, I never realized how many mattress chain stores are in Baton Rouge. I can't imagine how they stay open unless they are raping you on each sale.

Ask for their absolute best price...if it isn't AT LEAST 10% off, give them a business card and tell him to call you if they change their mind, but you're heading to "XXXX (their competitor)." Then give them no chance to talk again and walk out. They will call and offer 10-15% off.

Any luck haggling prices on these things?
Dude, you can get a water bed mattress for like only $45 on amazon.com .

We bought an iComfort Series 2 weeks ago. They threw in one of the adjustable bed frames, a set of very nice King sheets, a top of the line mattress cover, gel foam pillows, free delivery & haul off all by just asking why buy there instead of down the street.

Call some of the nicer hotels in your area and see if they are replacing their mattresses anytime soon. I hear you can get a great deal on a gently used mattress this way.

That's where all this started, sorry bro.
I'll post some pics later.
PS: What are you, a Phonecian date trader?
Enough with the haggling already.
