re: Oilfield Folk - Torque & Test Question - fiyahbyrd157 on 6/21/17 at 8:28 pm
Spot prices for Frac horsepower are double or triple what they were 6 months ago. Contract prices are 50 to100% higher. I agree that pumping 60 stages are increasing well costs, and the production may not follow. Regardless, when budgets were made the increases were not incorporated in them. Compani...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Oilfield Folk - Torque & Test Question - fiyahbyrd157 on 6/21/17 at 8:12 pm
Not for long. Frac prices are getting out of control. Drilling is still going because of contracts. A report I got this week showed that over 150 DUCs were getting added to the count monthly. Additionally to that, oil forecasts aren't showing anything over 50 for the rest of the year, with one inves...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Oilfield Folk - Torque & Test Question - fiyahbyrd157 on 6/21/17 at 8:04 pm
Definitely. I'd expand your search to west Texas. Frac supposed to be slowing down over there so there may be more incentive to keep some equipment working that may be excess to the demand. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Oilfield Folk - Torque & Test Question - fiyahbyrd157 on 6/21/17 at 7:53 pm
I'd hit up the auctions. Lots of equipment being auctioned that needs a little work. You'll be hard pressed to rent a unit from an existing service provider to use it for work that they could pick up. How much you charging for NU/ND?...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Oilfield Folk - Torque & Test Question - fiyahbyrd157 on 6/21/17 at 7:45 pm
I can see that in S Texas. A lot more activity down here and the service providers are a little more level loaded. What's the scope of your project that you need it for? ETA. Seeing the post above I'd hit up the auctions. Lots of equipment being auctioned that needs a little work. You'll be ha...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

Assuming you're actually needing it in or around Tyler, I'm sure any on the East Texas/N. LA service providers that do nipple ups would have one sitting around to rent. Haven't worked up there in a while so I don't knows still around. A quick google search should produce a handful of them. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Instapot was Amazon's best seller in the US - fiyahbyrd157 on 7/14/16 at 7:00 am
The all day beans that you manually smash for thickness are better, but in a pinch this thing will put out pretty good red beans. You can do it in a solid hour including prep if you are cutting all your own vegetables. If you buy the pre-chopped onions, celery, bell peppers at the store, 45 min m...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Restricted stock units - tax question - fiyahbyrd157 on 3/11/16 at 2:25 pm
Restricted stock units can go one or two ways. 1.) They sell shares at the time of vesting to cover the tax burden. The total value (no. of shares vesting X price on that day) will be reported as income on your W2. Whatever value of shares they sold goes on your W2 as income tax paid. If you are...

re: Haggling Mattress Prices - fiyahbyrd157 on 2/4/16 at 5:51 pm
Bought a new mattress within the last 6 months from Mattress Firm. Their margins on a company level are around 30-35% best I could find. Treat the mattress like you would buy a car, start at 35% off and walk out if you don't get at least 25% off. If your responsible and can pay a note, the find a 0%...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: The Texas House foolishly tries to overturn Denton's fracking ban - fiyahbyrd157 on 4/29/15 at 12:47 pm
The problem with that is most of the time its not extremely cheap. All natural gas is not created equal. While the general population thinks that is so, the BTU content varies greatly. Not to mention any CO2 or H2S present. If the BTU content (or CO2/H2S) of the natural gas being flared is too high ...

re: Houston Steakhouse - fiyahbyrd157 on 6/5/13 at 12:44 pm
I recently had the Flat Iron Kobe ($27 with mash and veggies) at Benjy's on Washington Ave. Not a steakhouse but it was as good as anything I've had here not from Vic and Anthony's or Pappa's. ...

re: Wings in Houston? - fiyahbyrd157 on 4/29/13 at 5:23 pm
Place is pretty good. Since they've cracked down on the "no loitering" policy its not bad stopping in. First time I stopped in a homeless man was outside and stopped me on the way out to ask if had any change. As others have said, its a cash only place. I couldn't blatantly lie to his face and I...
