My list too. I've picked golf back up since it is easier to do than loading up the kayak. However, now that it's dark at 5:30 pm; I find that I sit on the couch at night. Looking for something to do as well. Wish I had a large work shop so that I could build a boat or kayak or something. I just don't have the space.

Who needs a hobby for those hours? You must not have kids.

Read a book, drink expensive whiskey, and go to bed an hour earlier.

Yeah, it's dark at about 3:30 now and I'm laid up after knee surgery so I'm dying to get out outdoors and do something. Will be a few more weeks, most likely.

If you want to be around lots of chicks, DANCING is your choice. If you are near any kind of city there's usually some dancing event going on (salsa, swing, country, etc.) any night of the week. And there's always WAY MORE CHICKS than dudes there.

Build a garage (heated, etc) with cable, internet that you can work on anything in. Learn how to weld, use a cutting torch, solder up a circuit, work on a car.

A big new underground cool movement around most cities are MAKERS groups...where people get together and work on random projects like McGyver.

All you need to have fun and enjoy any of this is a GOOD ATTITUDE.

Seriously, lately I have been playing chess and starting to read books to get better at it. I'm still at practically a beginner's level, but I have been having fun with it. I think it's cool because the ceiling is so high that I will never actually master it.

My hobbies are weightlifting, sports betting and firearms. Although I don't play chess anymore, I played growing up and then a bit into my early 20s. It's a fantastic game with so much to learn and so many different ways to play people (online, friendly match at home, local Starbucks, etc). It definitely is time consuming as games take a while and at the least u need to learn different opening and defensive strategies, but it's a great way to stimulate the mind and pass time.

Learn to make charcuterie. Buy the book 'Charcuterie' and go to town.

Brew beer.

Go hiking in any of the NWRs or WMAs around where you live.

Start playing BRSA soccer.

Take some tennis lessons and go join one of the BREC leagues. Look up USTA and start playing some of the tourneys if you get into it.

Get a shotgun and take up skeet shooting. That is some really fun shite. You don't ever have to hunt or be in a swamp, just go to the ranges and shoot sporting clays.
