People are just dumb. A long time ago I was working at Ralph & Kacoo's and a woman ordered one of the blackened pasta dishes. We were always told to warn the customers that the blackened pasta was very spicy and confirm that they wanted a "very spicy" dish. Low and behold, people would order it then complain because it was hot.

Expect a lawsuit. Just like the person who sued McD because the coffee was hot.
I feel the need to pile on.

You have no idea what you're talking about. I suggest reading up on the actual case or even watch the documentary Hot Coffee to get some perspective.

In this video the same guy holds everyone up on a train for 17 mins by refusing to show his ticket bc it's his "constitutional right" to not provide it.

It's his way of becoming an internet "celebrity". Real life trolling.

I shouldn't have to show my ticket if I paid and already went through the gate. I would not have had entry if I didn't buy a ticket. The constitution gives me the right to protest

The thing that bothers me the most about this story, is that many people in society have become so self-absorbed and entitled, that they feel the need to record every single inconvenience in their lives (caused by others) for the sole purpose of broadcasting it to the public (with the hope of gaining sympathy, public outcry, monetary compensation, etc.). What this does is cheapens the legitimate instances of customer inconvenience and/or mistreatment.

This is a huge problem. And it takes away from people who are actually fricked or injured.

McDonalds found out the hotter the coffee, the more aroma it released. The more aroma it released, the more likely people were to buy it. It was pure neglect. I can't remember what the woman was awarded, but it was equal to the amount McDonald's was making in revenue selling coffee per day at the time.

There were definitely valid points in that lawsuit. Unfortunately, the media spin didn't talk about that. I mark that as the moment the media really started changing stories (more than usual) and it became common knowledge that you could do a frivolous lawsuit and get paid. When you see those prices go up don't immediately blame the price of oil.

Some places don't have gates. In some cities, you buy the ticket and get on the train. Then, the transit police will periodically get on the train and check tickets.

That's how it is here. I have ridden the light rail out here about 20 times and never had my ticket checked.

I don't think the guy acts like a douche.

He never yells or loses his temper.

He just happens to be an unfortunate combination of stubborn AND stupid.

He got his money back, and that's fair. Asking for food AND his money back was a bit much. He didnt deserve that, and didnt get it.
