quote:

A Starbucks customer in Florida wasn't too pleased to see something printed in place of his name on a freshly made grande white mocha: "DIABETES HERE I COME."

But the still-unidentified man had a personal reason to be upset about it, reports Mashable.

"That first word just automatically brought the picture of both sisters in my head, and I was taken aback," says the man, who has two sisters with Type 1 diabetes. "Just the struggles they went through and all the doctor appointments they had." After having the coffee drink delivered to his office (an employee did the coffee run), the man went down to the St. Augustine-area Starbucks himself.

i know this isn't the diabetes that the cup label referenced, but it should be a fair warning for the man to do everything he can to avoid the diabetes that he can actually deal with

This is why no one wants them to make $15/hr.

Almost 500 calories and 60 g of sugar in one coffee. I'm sorry, there is something very wrong with that, America.

The barista should mind their own business and let the guy do as he pleases. Barista is surely a SJW type trying to save the world one snarky comment at a time.

I don't know what's worse: Ordering a caffeinated milkshake with the delusion it's "coffee"; or getting called on it and getting butthurt about getting called out on it.

Either way:

I mean, I'm a regular drinker of sweet tea and Coke, but a white chocolate mocha seems like it would be tough to get down in one sitting.

I get such a laugh seeing people (usually fat) order those drinks. They are so terrible for you.

And the dude who got the coffee is just as bad. Bitching about how offended he is.

Seems odd a barista would write a note about a drink that isn't modified (looks like it was ordered directly the menu) and probably is a really popular seller. Is this going on every White Chocolate Mocha they serve? Why this one in particular?
