How old are you?

If you want to get shitfaced for cheap go to Falaraki, its a big holiday place for 18-25s from the UK, Sweden and some other places in Europe

Spent three weeks on Rhodes back in 2009. You'll have fun. The Euros will remember you and start giving you deals. Not many Americans there. "Colorado" was a fun bar

Took a side trip to Istanbul, also awesome.

Athens does indeed have some cool history to check out, but is also a shite hole.

Eta: don't know if still the case, but if you meet israeli girls you're in luck.

I had a professor who's Greek, but some of the beaches there were so awesome to see.

I'd like to go for sure.

Ya, I mean, Athens is objectively a shite hole but it isn't like I didn't have fun there. I get excited to be in a foreign place, no matter how "shitty" it is compared to here.

For the previous "photoshop" comments in this thread. Greece water is pretty damn clear/blue

This was cool to jump off.

Was there in 2010 also and ran into a couple of LSU fans, a blonde-haired dude and his gf or wife. Talked for a few minutes in Athens while looking for a place to eat. They were waiting on food at an outdoor table. We talked SEC football and had a beer.

Greece is super beautiful. The sites in Athens are incredible but the city itself is not. Really kinda dirty. The isles are breathtaking.

Yes I have, and it is absolutely breathtaking...in the islands. Athens is kinda dirty and run down looking and outside of the Acropolis and the archaeological museum, it's really not that great. The greek islands like Santorini, Rhodes, and Mykanos are incredible. Mykanos is like the Greek version of Key West, very laid back, beautiful, and boozy. Rhodes has a badass crusader era castle, stunning greek ruins in the Temple of Poseidon, Crystal clear blue waters, and a nude beach. Santorini, though my tour didn't take me there, looks to be one of the most beautiful towns in the world built atop an ancient caldera. It also may be the site of the Lost City of Atlantis.

I did Meteora, Delphi and Athens. All pretty cool. I then took a four day cruise on Louis Cruise lines. It was an older, smaller boat, but still pretty nice. Our ports were Santorini, Mykonos, Crete, and Kusadasi (Ephasis) Turkey. Good stuff. I will do this same trip in a couple of years. It was on the tail end of a three week trip that cut across Europe from London through Paris, Heidelberg, Lucerne, Florence and Rome before hitting Athens. Very nice way end a trip...with a cruise.
