Gieco sad I could keep my car even though the totaled it.

The wheels and tires are at least worth $1000. Not sure what I'd do with it after that though. Would a scrap yard come get it after I parted it out a bit?

Sell the wheels and tires and then sell what is left to the salvage yard.

lots of cars are up there. add in some new tires and it can easily be $1000.


I sold some stock atv wheels and tires for$500 not too long ago.

Geico is pretty good in general but especially after a mass scale disaster like this. They treated me very well after Katrina for my car loss, valuing it much higher than it was worth. Or it could just be they are overwhelmed and do not want to deal with the salvage.

You can as a salvage... That is unless it flooded. If it flooded then you can't keep it.

Correct. If flooded they can't even use it for parts. It has to be crushed.
