Just a hunch, but I suspect we may find out they knew more than what is currently being reported.

Same shite for driving a tug boat. Last time I was on one, I was that second person. Unfortunately, I hadn't ever driven one before and when the pilot went to go take a shite on the back deck, I ran the barge into the side of the Atchafalaya River.

Possibly. But the CEO was very outspoken at press conference that the pilot was fit and there were no warning signs. Someone in the company may have known but I cant see that guy going so public like that if he knew something else.

They lie all the time but they don't rush to a podium the way that guy did.

I assume they're insured but not for 149 deaths from an unfit pilot. (although it sounds like the airline didn't know he was unfit).

Big arse organizations like airlines likely self-insure for liability and insure the planes themselves with some Lloyd's syndicate or other. Your corner stores and independent oil companies and the like buy insurance policies for property and liability. A national or international huge company, instead of buying a policy, will up enough aside with a subsidiary they own, adhere to insurance law, and have that sub-company act as their OWN insurance company.

Unreal. I have no idea what Germanwings financial condition is, but I will be amazed if they survive financially.

I think Lufthansa will manage to survive.

I'm pretty sure he rushed to the podium to get that info out BEFORE the doctor stuff came to light.

Lufthansa said on Friday that it will now require two authorized crew members in the cockpit of its flights at all times. The change will cover all the carriers in the Lufthansa Group, which includes Germanwings, Austrian Airlines and Swiss International Air Lines.

With the move, Lufthansa joins a number of other carriers that have done the same in the wake of the Tuesday crash of a Germwings Airbus A320. Investigating authorities believe co-pilot Andreas Lubitz deliberately crashed that flight after the captain left the cockpit and Lubitz subsequently refused to allow him back in.

Air Canada, EasyJet and Norwegian Air Shuttle are among about a half-dozen carriers to publicly announce a similar change since the crash.

Great idea Lufthansa!

It is now time to implement the one pilot a and dog cockpit concept. The pilot is there to feed the dog and the dog is there to bite the man if he tries to touch anything.

You just want to make sure any farts caught on video can be blamed on the dog.

Video 'shows cabin chaos' in seconds before Germanwings crash

So, does any body know where to see this/actually wants to watch this video?

quote:

A mobile phone clip purportedly filming the final seconds inside the cabin of the doomed Germanwings airliner minutes before it crashed is ’genuine’, two European media insist.
French authorities initially firmly denied the existence of the clip, which allegedly relays in a “few seconds” scenes of chaos and passengers screaming “My God” in several languages. But they are now calling on anyone in possession of such a film to “hand it over to investigators”.
French magazine Paris Match and German daily Bild said the authenticity of the video is “unquestionable” and that it had been retrieved from the wreckage of last Tuesday’s crash by “a source close to the inquiry”.
