Might as well just drive the hour to Biloxi and bulldoze Beauvoir and the Davis Presidential Library.

Wasn't the American flag flown by slave owners? Why are they putting up
That symbol of oppression?
That symbol of oppression?

A lasting tribute to the man who fricked the city raw.

Water features really tell a story of history and remind of us of why things are the way they are. They also remind us of how far we've come along as a society.
It will also make New Orleans more original. New Orleans is the only city I can think of with water features.
Great job Mitch!

the statues will be put out to public pid... but with rules attached
can't be displayed on NOLA public property and must include an inscription on why they were erected and why the city council "voted" to remove them
Beauregard will not be put out to bid due to the ownership concerns with City Park

I wish it was a water feature of General Lee drowning yankees in a river.

I hope Mitch drowns in it

This is my beef.
If the statues are so harmful, why didn't Mitch destroy them onsite to ensure they couldn't harm any more peoples of color?

Well, so much for "reconciliation" and "removing racist symbols"

Bums pissing in a dried up fountain because the water line to it broke

Water was used in fire hoses on blacks during the Civil Rights era. This is racist AF! smdh Mitch

How long before the water feature stops working?

Good point. Let's replace that flag with a symbol that means well being or good fortune.
Here's what I'm thinking:
