Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee's statue at Lee Circle will be replaced by a "water feature" and public art that the city of New Orleans is already working to design, the city announced late Thursday (May 18).

The tall column on which Lee's statue stand will remain in place, the city said.

Does anyone know what in the world a "water feature" is?

Meanwhile, a U.S. flag will be placed at the site where the statue of Confederate President Jefferson Davis stood until it was removed last week, the city said.

No decision on Beauregard yet.

A fitting tribute to the element that destroyed New Orleans the first time.

Think Blue Bayou in the midst of downtown NOLA. And all that that entails.

Who is paying for the water feature's design, construction, and installation?
