Circle K is selling a full cake for 17.99.

Would you eat it? Has anyone tried it? I don't trust it.

I like to know good places to buy a king cake myself. I'm in the Laffy area though

The box probably tells you what bakery it's from. They sell Krispy Kreme donuts also.

Not even slightly the same principle.

If you're going to spend that much on a king cake, why from a gas station?

Eta - Unless it's from a reputable local bakery that's just selling them through the gas station.

Yep, I find that raw fish and cake have the same shelf life principals.

I pay less than that for a GOOD grocery store cake.

Had one once. Was damn good from what I remember, but it was about 3am and we'd been drinking all day and might have smoked some weed. And not eaten all day. Was the best damn "chicken" burrito I'd ever had as well. And about 8lbs of funyuns.

Who baked the Circle K king cake?

Perhaps it is from a local bakery and better than the grocery store cake.

Shell on Gause in the 'dell was selling Randazzo's last year. I'll eat those from any gas station.

Need more details here. Is this a regular Circle K, or one with a mom and pop food place /restaurant inside?

The former, hell no.

The latter is a dicey proposition, but some of the best food I've ever eaten is from hole in the wall places like that.

As others have said, it's probably from a bakery. At the Circle K on Claiborne, they were selling Caluda's king cakes. I believe Caluda's is run by ex-wife of Manny Randazzo or something like that.

Lots of places sell good kingcakes:

Walgreen's (NOLA area) has Antoine's

Majoria (Metairie) has Caluda (who is the ex-wife of Manny Randazzo)

KMart (NOLA area) sells Nonna's (a Randazzo family member)

Carnival Mart (BR near Cortana Mall) also sells Nonna's.
