We used smarties as a reward for her going poop. She was potty trained at 2 years old and has only had maybe 2 accidents since and both times it was just pee. Make a huge deal out of it when they do it, almost like you won the lottery.

My biggest problem these days is keeping her from shitting her britches. I'm afraid to shame or laugh at her because I don't want to mess her up mentally, but I'm running out of ideas.

She'll tee tee on the potty regularly, but she'd rather us deal with the poop. I'm at a loss...

Same exact problem here. Anyone got a solution?

Just went through this with my 3.5 year old girl. What we did was try to promote "big girl stuff", if you poo in the toilet you get to watch your cartoons, play with toys, go to shows, etc. all the things big girls do. If you crap your pants we take away cartoons or toys for the evening and well I guess your still a baby and dont want to be a big girl. Seem to have worked we goin on a solid month with no crappy pants.

I'm not worried about poop. My 25 month old salutes it going down the toilet with pride.

But getting him to let us know when he needs to go and that he needs to pee and then to keep the pee in the badly designed kids potty is my new daily battle.

My dad taught is to go outside before he taught us to pee in the toilet. We had a huge wrap around porch that we got to pee off of so it made it fun, then he worked us into using the toilet inside once we got our aim down. We would pee alot in public, but he said it beat the hell out of changing clothes all the time. Good luck

I live this now with my almost 3 yr old. Sometimes I will flop on the floor and throw a tantrum also. Usually gets them laughing pretty quick.

2-year-old. You have a 2-year-old, ffs.

EDIT: We were doing okay with potty-training our 2-year-old... But then our son was born and she regressed as they often do. It's almost like it's back to square one.

That is exactly what happened to us. We have a 2.5 yr old girl and a 4 month old boy.

Funny part is, at 18 months old she tee tee'd the very first time we sat her on the potty. She knows whats up, she's just giving us shite, literally, for the attention I think.

Here is the major difference between two and three, at two they can tell you what they want but at three they think it matters.

Well, my 14 year old is in the "I can't find what you just asked for" stage which runs into the "so I'll go sit down and not tell you I couldn't find it" stage. Also in the "can't follow directions to save my life" stage.

My little girl is 5. She is the sweetest. When she was 2-3, didn't have to tell her twice to stop something. She always did it the first time. Now, its like she doesn't hear us.

Identical twin boys are turning 3 on the 30th. Yikes. They march to their own drum and there is nothing you can do or say. Punish them. On the knees. Fine. I'll just do it again once I'm out of timeout. No big deal.

Add in our 3 week old....yep. Try feeding him, while my little girl is yelling at the boys because they are stepping on her drawings. Then, the run off, and the next thing I know, one has the other pinned under the toddler bed mattress.

Wake up, repeat the day.
