Not acknowledging the tantrums seems to negate the duration... a lot.

If you lay in the floor with her, and bargain or ask whats wrong, that shite will go on for 30 minutes.

We laughed at the tantrums. They lose interest fast.

I don't know if that falls into the category of "shaming" them, but it sounds close.

My biggest problem these days is keeping her from shitting her britches. I'm afraid to shame or laugh at her because I don't want to mess her up mentally, but I'm running out of ideas.

She'll tee tee on the potty regularly, but she'd rather us deal with the poop. I'm at a loss...

Kids are awesome until the teen years. That's when you become a complete dumbass in their eyes.

My daughter is 4 years old and my son is 5 months old and the jealousy fits are unbareable....one parent is fixing dinner the other is feeding the baby and the 4 year old has a meltdown because no one can go look at the bug she found on the porch and "no one cares about her anymore"....horseshite that kid gets her due amount of attention from both parents for sure.

frustrating as hell....my four year old hears the word no and you mine as well have just slapped her in the face she goes atomic! Then she can be the sweetest most considerate kid in the world 10 minutes later.

We haven't had to deal with many tantrums, thankfully. However my 3 year old is incredibly stubborn

potty training the girl was easy...for me I was working I just got reports every night and gave a lot of ovations for a "good day"....but my wife is a teacher so she just got her home all summer and they literally worked on it every day and there was bribery involved she had a potty jar that she could pick out little dollar store stuff out of necklaces and such if she used the big potty....it didn't take long...

we were motivated though we wanted to put her in this Montessori school starting that fall and they have to be potty trained so my wife went boot camp on her.

for my son we have a little while till that starts but my wife had younger brothers and they lived in the country so they just let them run around the yard with no pants on and then it clicked that they go to the bathroom in the house...

apparently boys are real easy we shall see my daughter seemed easy but again I was at work and didn't have to put in the work it just happened one day in my eyes.
