That's something up with which I will not put.

So let me get this straight LT? You are saying that BRFD does NOT make any calls (first aid, public assist, or fires) in SGFD districts????
They assist each other as needed. They catch each other's backs. It's a back and forth. The op tried to make it sound like a one sided deal. I think he insinuated they ran thousands of fires/emergencies in the unincorporated area with no assists from st George. I know there is an all hands on deck approach when it comes to emergencies of a certain magnitude.
However, these instances are few and far between.
Unless you consider the area around whole foods on corp blvd. technically brfd covers that for free, but it's not in the SG area being considered.

This may be correct in theory alone!! I can confirm without a doubt there is no "covering each other's backs" OP is correct in saying brfd runs over 1,000 calls for SG in THEIR fire districts (fact). The reverse is not correct. To make it simple...BR runs calls for SG. The only time SG runs any calls for BR is on fire calls on the edges of the city where BOTH depts are together. Fact

No it isn't. It's D.O.A. without the mall.

If you would just let the St George city happen, they could help BR with their fire problems. With the lack of funds, the SGFD can't possibly bail out BR time and time again.

Why does it even matter the motive for people wanting to branch off and form their own city? Whether its for schools or bc they don't want to subsidize the ghetto or whatever, what's the difference?

Not even close. St.George has money it budgeted to continue to pay for constitutional offices that it can pull back if BR incorporates MOLA. I posted an article on it last week.
SGFD is not some rinky dink operation. Their ranking of "2" is better than 98% of departments nation wide. BRFD is indeed ranked a "1" but we are lucky to have them both. And to the OP's point BRFD does not run hundreds or thousands of calls in St.George. mutual aid is close to 50/50 and you have zero factual evidence to support what you are saying.

BR's argument for why this is bad, is more of an embarrassment of what the city has refused to resolve over the past 50 years. The city thought it would just slowly move its borders southeast over the next ten years to act like north Baton Rouge never happened, and this vote spoils their narrative.

Mall alone accounts for 11% of projected tax revenue.
Mall is just the start. They'll fall like dominos once it goes for fear St. George will start increasing taxes to make up for loss in revenues.

Surprised this didn't get a lot more discussion in that thread. Everyone keeps saying that SG is done if the mall bolts, but that may not be the case.
