Manager handled it poorly grabbing her phone. Customer handled it poorly for making such a public incident out of it. I think they are both wrong.
I agree with all of this. She says she never touched the food. A restaurant shouldn't try to charge somebody 50% for an order that is untouched and incorrect.

Whether policies and procedures are for back end staff or employees only, or whether they are printed on menus. Anything provided to the customer is done so at the choice of the owner. Ask all you like. They aren't required to say anything to you beforehand.
Fleur De Lis doesn't tell you cash only. They may have it posted but I've never seen it. I can assure you I'm not going to "demand," to see a policy because I don't like it...and I wouldn't expect them to. Even if I asked.

I do not know where it is posted but I knew it was cash only when I was seated. Probably on the front door and menu.
Restaurants with a pervasive problem of people refusing to pay for what they order should set up like McCalister's or Jason's Deli and require payment before service.
The power that we have over businesses is our choice to patronize them. If they provide bad service or don't produce an experience to your preference, you don't have to return. But you should pay for what you ordered. And you should tip for good service.
I rarely receive bad service and I rarely, if ever get bad food - especially in most local Louisiana restaurants. Louisiana is a food culture. Even the "weak" restaurants offer pretty good food.

Your prior posts here are myopic. A business owner serves you but is not required to do so. You're absolutely correct in that she can ask, but a biz owner isn't required to answer in the affirmative.
Or have you missed that sign in most businesses where they mention they have the right to refuse service to anyone?

Love Willie's & never had any issues....even when FIL Sent a dish back once.
This woman probably comes in with an attitude & it wouldn't be hard to notice. Maybe she should just stick with fast food.

I disagree with you and 08 and I am NOT the least bit confused. Of course they can refuse service...before they serve you. Do you think they can bring you chicken when you order steak and charge you 50% if you don't touch it? I agree that policies do NOT have to be posted but you are opening yourself up for this kind of stuff if you make things up that you can not support.
If this is truly their policy then IT is myopic and such a policy, by its unfair nature should definitely be posted.
But you know it never would be because no such policy exists.

At Crawfish Town USA last night there was a loud commotion at the hostess stand. Then one girl in braids started dropping f bombs. Then one lady yelled is this place owned by white people! There is nothing but crackas in here. The manager, who is black, asked them to leave.

I find it funny to hear so many say they know the owner or go there a lot so they know the owner are good people blah blah blah.
Regardless of what happened, a business supporting going after someone's phone like that is a bad look. There's nothing in that video that would suggest a great owner should support that type of behavior. That was pretty bad to see them claim to review the video and support that behavior.
Not sure if I missed something.

Yeah. As someone else mentioned, unless sautéed shrimp was a off menu special, why would a chef just randomly decide to go rogue and sautee instead of grill? No menu items offer sautéed shrimp.

That is weak and you know it. Mine was an example showing the fallacy of the non-policy. She evidently felt like she did not get what she ordered....and mgt. decided to try and get her to pay 50% and said that was policy...You agree with that and I don't. I bet they wish they had just said, "Ok, Ma'am, sorry we can not please you today, take care."
